sddec23-04 • CLARE: The Lab Availability Tracker

Project Overview

Our project is a lab and classroom availability tracker for Coover Hall. The end goal is a website that tracks lab occupancy and workstation availability with the added context of lab room schedules.

Currently, our implementation uses machine learning object detection and computer activity data to provide real-time updates for the status of the Senior Design Lab. CLARE also tracks historical usage data and provides lab schedules for each lab in Coover Hall.

Future work for this project includes expanding our implementation to every room in Coover Hall and adding Canvas integration for our website for ease of use by students. Eventually, CLARE can become a more convenient and cost-efficient solution than LabStats, a subscription-based lab availability tracker.
